Day : 1 Arrive into Milan.
Guided City Tour of Milan. Welcome to Milan, Italy’s second biggest city and one of the world’s capital for design and fashion where we begin our ‘Best of Southern Europe ‘ tour. On arrival, you will be met by your SOT C Tour Manager / Local Representative outside the customs area, who will welcome you and take you to your hotel and check in. After a continental breakfast, we check out and drive to Venice - an archipelago of 118 islands, 150 canals and 400 bridges. On arrival, we drive over Mussolini’s Bridge of Liberty and then take a boat ride over the Giudecca canal to St. Mark’s Square, the very heart of Venice. Here see the historic Ducal Palace, the infamous prison, the Bridge of Sighs, the exquisite Clock Tower and the baroque splendor of St. Marks Basilica. We then visit the Murano Glass factory where a master craftsman will demonstrate the art of creating the famous Venetian blown glass. Day : 3 Onto Rome. Trevi Fountain.
After a continental breakfast, we check out and drive to Rome, the capital of Italy. Experience the breathtaking views of the Apennine mountain range that span across the length of Italy. On arrival, we see the famous Trevi Fountain - a roman legend assures your return to Rome if you throw a coin over your left shoulder into the fountain. Later, we check into the hotel. Day : 4 Vatican Museum
with Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Cathedral Guided City Tour of Rome Colosseum from Inside After a continental breakfast, we check out and take you to the world renowned Vatican museum with Sistine Chapel, built between 1475 and 1483, in the time of Pope Sixtus IV. The Sistine Chapel is one of the most famous churches in the Western World. It has many beautiful frescoes, which depict the history of the universe, God and humanity. Do not miss the beautiful ceiling and also “The Last Judgement” painted on the altar by the renowned artist Michelangelo. Today, Livorno, reveals its history through the structure of its neighbourhoods, crossed by canals and surrounded by fortified town walls, through the tangle of its streets, which embroider the town’s Venice district, and through the Medici Port characteristically overlooked by towers and fortresses leading to the town centre. Day : 1 Arrive into Berlin - capital of Germany,
Welcome to Berlin. We begin our ‘Eastern European Wonders’ tour as we board the coach and proceed to the hotel for check-in. After the long journey you can freshen up and relax in your hotel room. Overnight at your hotel NH Treptow or similar in Berlin. (D)

Day : 2 Guided City Tour of Berlin,
Onto Prague, After a continental breakfast, we proceed on a guided city tour of Berlin. See the Berlin Wall, the Brandenburg Gate - located in no-man’s land between East and West Germany
during the Cold War, this famous monument, built during the 18th-century reign of Friedrich Wilhelm II, has long
been a defining symbol of Berlin and both the city’s division and unification, the restored Reichstag – the German
Parliament Building and the 210 foot Victory Column in the vast Tiergarten Park. Visit Check-Point Charlie - the former border crossing point between East and West Berlin where Soviet and American tanks stood face to face, after the construction of the wall in 1961. We also drive along the Unter Den Linden Boulevard –
Berlin’s most beautiful avenue and pass the State Opera House. We also visit the Alexander Platz, where stands the World Time Clock and the Fountain of Friendship. Later we drive to Prague and check-in to the hotel.

Day : 3 Guided City Tour of Prague,
Onto Salzburg, After a continental breakfast, we check-out of our hotel and proceed on a guided city tour of Prague. We start our tour from the 1000-year-old Hradcany Castle, the former residence of the Bohemian kings and St.Vitus Cathedral. We walk down from the Palace to Charles Bridge, founded in 1357 by Charles IV. Both ends of the bridge are fortified by towers (the Lesser Town Bridge Towers and the Old Town Bridge Tower). From 1683 to 1928 thirty sculptures and sculptural groups of the saints were gradually set on
the bridge piers. The bridge is 515 meters long and 10 meters wide. We also visit the Old Town Square with its Town Hall and Astronomical Clock. The Astronomical Clock is one of the outstanding sights of Prague. The dial is poised with three main components: the astronomical dial that displays various astronomical details as well as representing the position of the Sun and Moon in the sky; “The Walk of the Apostles”, showcases the movement of the figures of Twelve Apostles passing along the two windows in every hour of daylight; and a calendar dial that rotates and gives the description of each and every day of the year with an indication of the current date at the top, the medallions with zodiac signs describing every month. Day : 4 Guided Walking Tour of Salzburg,
Onto Vienna, After a continental breakfast, we check out of the hotel and proceed on a guided walking tour of this elegant baroque city. Salzburg,full of green hills, romantic gardens and breathtaking valleys. is a picturesque city with small alleys, quaint colorful town homes, rich castles and palaces, neat gardens and a high density of churches and monasteries. See the birthplace of the legendary Mozart, the Mirabell Palace with its landscaped gardens and the Cathedral in the old town. Stroll along the Aldstadt, which was recently granted World Heritage Status by UNESCO. Later we proceed to Vienna – the Austrian capital. Check into your hotel on arrival. Day : 5 Visit to Schonbrunn Palace Guided City Tour of Vienna Visit Prater Park.
After a continental breakfast, we visit the Schonbrunn Palace (the former summer residence of the Habsburg family). Schönbrunn Palace was not only an imperial residence and the setting for countless festivities, but also a place where famous artists and craftsmen from many different epochs created interiors of great beauty. All the rooms in the palace have their own stories to tell, stories on the margins of great historical events which are indicative of the lifestyle, atmosphere and world view of the imperial era. Later, proceed on a guided city tour of Vienna. On your guided city tour, we drive on the Ring Boulevard and see the State Opera House, the Parliament, the City Hall and the Burgtheater. We also make a photostop at the Hofburg-former winter residence of the Habsburg family and the Belvedere Palace-former summer residence of Prince Eugene. Also see the Hundertwasserhaus, an apartment house designed by Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. It features undulating floors (“an uneven floor is a melody to the feet”), a roof covered with earth and grass, and large trees growing from inside the rooms, with limbs extending from windows. Hundertwasser took no payment for the design of the house, declaring that it was worth it, to prevent something ugly from going up in its place. We then take you to visit the Prater, Vienna’s most popular fun park. Take a ride (on your own) on the Riesenrad (Giant Ferris Wheel) and enjoy a great view over Vienna. The Riesenrad was erected in 1897 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the reign of Empereror Franz Joseph I.

Day 6 Orientation Tour of Bratislava, Onto Budapest,
After a continental breakfast, we check-out of the hotel and drive to Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. You have some free time to soak in the atmosphere of this medieval city, with its side-walk cafes. Later, we proceed to Budapest. On arrival, check into your hotel. Day : 8 Onto Krakow, Visit the Salt Mines at Wieliczka
After a continental breakfast, we check-out of our hotel and proceed to Krakow in Poland. It is a scenic drive taking you right through the mountainous and densely wooded Slovakia, where brown bears still roam free. On arrival, we proceed to Wieliczka Salt Mine, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the subterranean world of labyrinthine passages, giant caverns, underground lakes and chapels with sculptures in the crystalline salt and rich ornamentation carved in the salt rock. Also marveled at the ingenuity of the ancient mining equipment in the Wieliczka salt mine. And the unique acoustics of the place have made hearing music here an exceptional experience. Day : 9 Guided City Tour of Krakow, Visit to Auschwitz Concentration Camp .
After a continental breakfast, we proceed on a guided city tour of Krakow. See the Florian’s Gate and Wawel Castle. Visit the Main Square (Rynek Glówny) the natural centre of Krakow with its centrally located Cloth Hall (Sukiennice) which has survived to this day. Other buildings standing to this day in the heart of the Main Market Square include the solitary tower - a remnant of the Town Hall demolished in the 19th century. Later, in the afternoon, we visit Auschwitz Concentration Camp - a symbol of the Holocaust and a grim reminder of what cruelty Man is capable of. Jews were sent there from all over Europe to undergo selection and to be systematically murdered in gas chambers. We say and write “Auschwitz,” but we actually mean a torture center, a terror that we cannot possibly conceive, the essence of evil and horror. Auschwitz was surrounded by high electric barbed wire fences, which were guarded by SS soldiers armed with machine guns and rifles. After a continental breakfast, we check out of and proceed to Brussels - the Capital of the Belgium & the European Union. On arrival, we proceed for an orientation tour of Brussels. See the adorable Manneken Pis Statue, a charming fountain of a little boy, today the symbol of Brussels, the beautiful Grand Place, the Town Hall, Municipal Museum, the Royal Palace, St. Michael’s Cathedral and the mammoth Palace of Justice. After a continental breakfast, we check-out of the hotel and drive to Cologne, famous for Eau de Cologne. Visit the magnificent Cologne Cathedral. This 515 ft tall Gothic Cathedral, which took almost six centuries to build, can hold upto 40,000 people and is Germany’s most visited monument. We then proceed for a cruise on the river Rhine. Titlis, which at 10,000 ft is the highest peak in central Switzerland. As you journey to Mt. Titlis through a series of three different cable car rides, you will be amazed as the scenery changes from green meadows, scenic lakes to snow clad mountains. National Parks. This tranquil holy ground, founded by St. Kevin in the 6th century, still holds the power to nourish
the soul. Walk in the footsteps of St. Kevin as you explore the settlement of Glendalough. Day : 6 Guided City Tour of Bergen.
After a continental breakfast, begin the guided city tour of Bergen, including a visit to the popular Fish and Flower Market, the famous Bryggen Harbour with its gabled houses, and the old Hanseatic Quarter. Later we proceed to The Fløibanen Funicular in Bergen which is one of the most popular attractions in all of Norway. The funicular ride up to the top of Fløyen mountain takes 5-6 minutes. The ride itself is spectacular and the views of Bergen only improve the closer you get to the top. Once at the top of the funicular, you can choose from a vast number of hikes over the mountain. Day : 7 Onto Gudvangen, Cruise on Sogenefjord to Flam Scenic Train to Geilo.
After a continental breakfast, we check-out of the hotel and drive to Gudvangen to take a leisurely Cruise on one of the Norway’s most famous and splendid Fjords, the Sognefjord to Flam. Upon arrival, soak in the spectacular natural beauty, peace and harmony. We then transfer you to the Flam railway station to board the train to Myrdal which will give you the breathtaking experience of Norway. See the magnificent Kjosfossen Waterfall. At Myrdal change to the Geilo Train which takes you across the Hardanger National park and through the beautiful Hallingdalen Valley. Upon arrival, we check into our hotel. Day 3 : Paris–Giverny–Rouen–Honfleur–Deauville.

Continue to Rouen to visit its great cathedral. Next, enjoy a stop in lovely Honfleur and then continue to the seaside resort of Deauville for an overnight. (B,D)

Day 4 : Deauville–Normandy Landing Beaches–Bayeux–Mont St. Michel.
This morning, visit the nearby legendary beaches of Normandy, where the Allied troops landed more than 60 years ago. The highlights are Arromanches and the American Cemetery at Omaha. Next, to Bayeux, famed for its lace-making and the world-renowned Bayeux Tapestry (included visit). Then, southwards to visit Mont St. Michel, which stands on an island reached by a causeway. (B)

Day 5 : Mont St. Michel–St. Malo–Rennes–Loire Valley.
Drive along the coast to the fortified seaside resort of St. Malo to admire its cathedral and ancient walls. Continue to Rennes with its traditional colorful timber-framed houses. Later, reach Amboise for two overnights. (B)

Day 6 : Loire Valley.
A whole day to take advantage of a fascinating optional excursion and visit the Châteaux of Chenonceaux, now privately owned and the most visited castle of the Loire Valley, and Amboise, where Leonardo da Vinci spent the last three years of his life. (B,D)

Day 7 : Loire Valley–Blois–Chartres–Paris.

Titlis, which at 10,000 ft is the highest peak in central Switzerland. As you journey to Mt. Titlis through a series of three different cable car rides, you will be amazed as the scenery changes from green meadows, scenic lakes to snow clad mountains. See over 200 cable cars sporting different flags. Lookout for cable car number 73 that carries the Indian flag! The last leg of the ascent will be in the world’s first rotating cable car called the ‘Titlis Rotair’. At Mt. Day : 12 Vatican Museum with Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Cathedral .
Guided City Tour of Rome. Colosseum from Inside After a continental breakfast, we check out and take you to the world-renowned Vatican museum with Sistine Chapel, built between 1475 and 1483, in the time of Pope Sixtus IV. The Sistine Chapel is one of the most famous churches in the Western World. It has many beautiful frescoes, which depict the history of the universe, God and humanity. Do not miss the beautiful ceiling and also “The Last Judgement” painted on the altar by the renowned artist Michelangelo. We begin the tour with a visit to Mt. Titlis, which at 10,000 ft is the highest peak in central Switzerland. As you journey to Mt. Titlis through a series of three different cable car rides, you will be amazed as the scenery changes from green meadows, scenic lakes to snow clad mountains. See over 200 cable cars sporting different flags. Lookout for cable car number 73 that carries the Indian flag! The last leg of the ascent will be in the world’s first rotating cable car called the ‘Titlis Rotair’. At Mt. Titlis you have free time to play and enjoy in the snow, visit the Ice Cave or just relax at the restaurant. At the Terrace on top of the Mt. By early evening you’ll be in Siena with time to visit this jewel of Tuscany. Sit in one of the cafés surrounding the Campo and admire one of Italy’s most unique squares, famed the world over for its Palio horse race. (B)

Day 4 : Siena–San Gimignano–Greve–Montecatini.
Drive this morning to San Gimignano, one of Tuscany’s greatest attractions. Its medieval squares, town walls, streets, alleyways, and 14 towers make it unique. Next, into the very heart of the Chianti vineyards; watch out for names such as Castellina in Chianti, Badia, Gaiole, and Brolio, where classical Chianti wines are produced. Stop in Greve for some wine tasting at a local wine producer. Arrive in Montecatini in time to join the outing for an optional Tuscan dinner. (B)

Day 5 : Montecatini–Excursion to Florence.
This Renaissance gem and city of the Medicis will keep you enthralled the entire day. Traffic is banned in part of the historic center so visitors can wander at leisure and admire the city’s timeless beauty in relative peace and quiet. Day 7 : Venice Area.
Venice is more like a marvelous film set than a real live city, with its criss-crossing canals, gondolas and water buses, arched bridges, palaces, and little quiet piazzas. The included orientation starts with a boat ride and is followed by time at leisure and a chance to watch Venetian glassblowers fashion their delicate objects as they did centuries ago. On arrival, we drive over Mussolini’s Bridge of Liberty and then take a boat ride over the Giudecca canal to St. Mark’s Square, the very heart of Venice. Here see the historic Ducal Palace, the infamous prison, the Bridge of Sighs, the exquisite Clock Tower and the baroque splendor of St. Marks Basilica. Day 11 : Vatican Museum with Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Cathedral .
Guided City Tour of Rome . Colosseum from Inside After a continental breakfast, we check out and take you to the world-renowned Vatican museum with Sistine Chapel, built between 1475 and 1483, in the time of Pope Sixtus IV. See the Baptistery and the bell tower, known throughout the world as the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Remember to take a photograph of your family against this wonder of the world. Visit the Fragonard Perfumery in Eze village where you will see a demonstration of how perfumes are made. Seize this opportunity to buy wide range of original and classic Fragonard perfumes. In Monaco see Prince Rainier’s Royal Palace and the Cathedral, where many members of Monaco’s royal family are buried, including Princess Grace. Marvel at the changes in the Alpine scenery as your charming cog-wheel train takes you on a unique journey. Experience the magic of the mountains at the Sphinx Terrace. Mt. Titlis with Ice-Flyer Ride and Lucerne After a continental breakfast, the day is free OR we proceed on an exciting full day excursion to Mt. Titlis and Lucerne. We begin the tour with a visit to Mt. Titlis, which at 10,000 ft is the highest peak in central Switzerland. As you journey to Mt. Titlis through a series of three different cable car rides, you will be amazed as the scenery changes from green meadows, scenic lakes to snow clad mountains. See over 200 cable cars sporting different flags. Lookout for cable car number 73 that carries the Indian flag! The last leg of the ascent will be in the world’s first rotating cable car called the ‘Titlis Rotair’. At Mt. Titlis you have free time to play and enjoy in the snow, visit the Ice Cave or just relax at the restaurant. At the Terrace on top of the Mt. Titlis summit station, weather permitting, you could take an unforgettable ride on the “Ice-Flyer” an enclosed ski lift that travels only a few meters over the Titlis Glacier. (weather permitting). Day 2 : Madrid.
Of the Spanish capital, situated 2,180 feet above sea level, the Spaniards say it’s the nearest thing to heaven. You’ve only a day here and it’s certainly worth making the most of it by joining the included guided sightseeing tour: a full panoramic drive by way of the Avenida Mayor, Puerta del Sol, Parliament Square, and a picture stop outside the Royal Palace. The optional trip to Toledo is most rewarding, too. The splendid setting of this old walled city above the Tagus was made famous in El Greco’s painting, and even now it’s like a great open-air museum of Spanish history and art. (B)

Day 3 : Madrid–Avila–Salamanca–Coimbra, Portugal.
West for a visit to fortified Avila with its many towers. Next is Salamanca, just six miles from the spot where Wellington routed Napoleon’s army in 1812. Make sure you spend some time wandering around Plaza Mayor, the grandest square in Spain. Across the frontier to Guarda, the highest town in Portugal. From here, descend to the valleys of the Serra da Estrela to Coimbra for an overnight. (B,D)

Day 4 : Coimbra–Batalha–Fátima–Lisbon.
This morning, enjoy your orientation tour of Coimbra, celebrated for its beauty and ancient university. Later, travel southwards to Batalha with a visit to its beautifully sited monastery. Today’s penultimate highlight is a visit to the Sanctuary of Fátima. A sterner and more desolate landscape accompanies you to Lisbon for your overnight in Portugal’s capital. Day 9 : Fez.
At leisure in ancient Fez, which occupies a position of outstanding scenic beauty. This morning, visit the Medina on the included sightseeing and enjoy the maze of narrow streets through the colorful bazaars and the exotic atmosphere. (B)

Explore its center on foot, stroll along shaded Cours Mirabeau, admire its famous cafés and fountains, discover colorful squares, or barter with the locals at the quaint flea market on Place de Verdun. Day 8 : Avignon–Paris.
Start the day with an included visit of the Palace of the Popes, seat of the papacy from 1309 to 1377 instead of Eternal Rome (audio-guide included). After a continental breakfast, we take you on a tour of world famous Prado Museum and Royal Palace conducted by a local guide. Get mesmerized by viewing the paintings of El Greco, Velazquez, Goya, Peter Paul Rubens, Hieronymus Bosch and numerous other famous artists. Later, we visit the Royal Palace, residence of the Royal family - a towering structure that has already 250 years of history and it is considered one of the best in Europe. Day 6 : Guided City Tour of Barcelona.
Visit to the Olympic Stadium .After a continental breakfast, proceed for a city tour of Barcelona conducted by a local guide. See the magnificence of the 14th century gothic cathedral, the unfinished glory of Gaudi’s controversial Sagrada Familia. Stroll through the lively Las Ramblas, the city’s most spirited street with its colorful flower stalls and markets to the Christopher Colombus monument near the waterfront.

After a continental breakfast, we check out of the hotel and drive to Nice, the uncontested Queen of the French Riviera. Monte Carlo, Monaco

Day 8 : Visit Eze Village, Monaco, Monte Carlo & Cannes.
After a continental breakfast, we take you on an exciting trip to Eze Village, Monaco, Monte Carlo and Cannes. Visit the Fragonard Perfumery in Eze village where you will see a demonstration of how perfumes are made. Seize this opportunity to buy wide range of original and classic Fragonard perfumes. See Prince Rainier’s Royal Palace and the Cathedral, where many members of Monaco’s royal family are buried, including Princess Grace. You have free time to stroll along the winding streets and pedestrian alleyways of the old town where you will find beautiful souvenirs and quaint cafes. We then proceed to Monte Carlo. Enjoy the beautiful views of the splendid harbour with its expensive yachts and drive along the famous Grand Prix circuit of Monte Carlo ( entry will be restricted during Grand Prix Race). Later, we drive along the sparkling shores of the Riveira to fashionable Cannes. It is difficult to imagine a more splendid location than glitzy Cannes. Among the famous festivals held here, the most celebrated is the International Festival of Cinema. Day 9 : Onto Milan. Guided City Tour of Milan .
After a continental breakfast, we check out of the hotel and proceed to Milan - Italy’s second biggest city and one of the world’s capital for design and fashion. It is said that if Rome is the heart of Italy, Milan is its head. Soak in the atmosphere and feed the pigeons at Piazza del Duomo while taking a look at the stunning splendor of Milan Cathedral- Italy’s largest gothic structure. Marvel at the stylish beauty of the Victor Emmanuel II gallery as you walk through it. Take a look at La Scala, Milan’s pride and one of Europe’s most prestigious Opera House and the Statue of Leonardo da Vinci besides it. Overnight at hotel Una or similar in Milan. Day 11 : Day Free. Additional Suggested Excursion:
Jungfraujoch and Interlaken After a continental breakfast, the day is free OR we suggest a visit to Jungfraujoch, and picturesque Interlaken. Our scenic drive to Lauterbrunnen, from where we board a train to Jungfraujoch the highest altitude railway station in Europe at 11,333 ft. takes us along lovely lakes and mountain passes. Marvel at the changes in alpine scenery as your charming cogwheel train takes you on a unique journey to Jungfraujoch, the very Top of Europe. Enjoy an Indian vegetarian lunch.

On top of Jungfraujoch, you have free time to explore the modern complex. Experience the magic of the mountains
at the Sphinx Terrace. See the breathtaking Jungfrau Peak and the awesome Aletsch Glacier. Also, visit the Ice Palace, where you see a beautiful display of sculptures made of ice, while being encased in ice yourself. Have a memorable encounter with eternal snow and ice at the Plateau. Day 10 : Visit Lake Como. Onto Switzerland .
After a continental breakfast, we check out and proceed to Switzerland a country known for its spectacular mountain scenery, sparkling lakes and folklore traditions. En-route stop at Lake Como - one of the deepest lake in Europe and regarded as one of the most beautiful lakes in Italy. It has been a popular retreat for aristocrats and wealthy people since Roman times, and a very popular tourist attraction with many artistic and cultural gems. It is a home to many celebrities like Madonna, George Clooney, Gianni Versace, Ronaldinho, Sylvester Stallone, Richard Branson etc. Enjoy the journey as the scenery changes from the Italian to the Swiss Alps. Day 12 : Day Free. Additional Suggested Excursion:
Mount Titlis with Ice-Flyer Ride and Lucerne After a continental breakfast, the day is free OR we suggest a full day excursion to Mt. Titlis with Ice-Flyer ride and an orientation tour of Lucerne.. We begin the tour with a visit to Mt. Titlis, which at 10,000 ft is the highest peak in central Switzerland. As you journey to Mt. Titlis through a series of three different cable car rides, you will be amazed as the scenery changes from green meadows, scenic lakes to snow clad mountains. See over 200 cable cars sporting different flags. Lookout for cable car number 73 that carries the Indian flag! The last leg of the ascent will be in the world’s first rotating cable car called the ‘Titlis Rotair’. At Mt. Titlis you have free time to play and enjoy in the snow, visit the Ice Cave or just relax at the restaurant. At the Terrace on top of the Mt. Titlis summit station, weather permitting, you could take an unforgettable ride on the “Ice- Flyer” an enclosed ski lift that travels only a few meters over the Titlis Glacier. ( weather permitting ). Enjoy an Indian vegetarian lunch. We later proceed for an orientation tour of Lucerne, one of the six most frequently visited cities in the World. See the Lion Monument, ‘Lowendenkmal’ hewn from a limestone cliff to commemorate the bravery and loyalty of Swiss Guards. You may take a stroll across the Kappelbrucke - the world’s oldest covered wooden bridge, originally built in 1333 over the Reuss river.

Day 1 : Arrive in Athens, Greece.
Check into your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to start exploring the Greek capital. Later, meet your Tour Director and fellow travelers and maybe join them in an optional evening out.

Day 2 : Athens.
An opportunity to see island life from the cruise ship on the optional three-island cruise, visiting Aegina, Poros, and Hydra. Poros is a lush island with a maze of narrow streets. Aegina is the main producer of pistachio nuts in Greece, while Hydra is home to a large artist community and where beautiful boutiques line the scenic harbor. (B)

Day 3 : Athens–Corinth–Epidaurus–Nauplia.
Join the included sightseeing tour of Athens, featuring the highlights of this ancient capital with a visit to the Acropolis. Next, west to the Corinth Canal. Journey into the Argolis to stop in Epidaurus, located in the hilly countryside dotted with pine trees and oleanders. In this magnificent setting you’ll visit the open-air theater that can still seat 14,000 spectators. Head for the coast and overnight in Nauplia. (B)

Day 4 : Nauplia–Mycenae–Sparta.
This morning, enjoy the included excursion with a Local Guide to Mycenae, a city fortress cursed by the gods but rich in gold and warrior kings. Motor south in the afternoon deep into the Peloponnese to Sparta for an overnight. (B,D)

Day 5 : Sparta–Mystra–Olympia.
Your morning highlight will be the included sightseeing of the medieval Byzantine citadel of Mystra, at one time known as the “Florence of the East.” In the afternoon, drive to Olympia. (B,D)

Day 6 : Olympia–Delphi.
Focus on Olympia, where the athletes of antiquity performed in honor of the king of deities. Learn more about the history of the Olympic Games on the optional sightseeing tour. In the afternoon, drive north to Patras, the capital of the Peloponnese and the west coast’s largest port. Then, proceed via the spectacular Rion-Antirion Bridge through the picturesque fishing villages along the south coast of the mainland to mythical Delphi. (B)

Day 7 : Delphi–Kalambaka.
Optional morning sightseeing of the archaeological site in Delphi. Once called the “Navel of the Earth,” Delphi was the greatest Oracle of the ancient world, where people flocked to seek advice. Now, it’s one of the grandest sights in Greece; its theater and Temple of Apollo still stand in their lovely natural setting. In the afternoon, drive north by way of Lamia and on to Trikala in Thessaly for an overnight in Kalambaka. (B,D)

Day 8 : Kalambaka–Meteora–Athens.
A short drive to Meteora, which is a cluster of monastic buildings perched in an unforgettable manner on a set of rising rock formations. Your included visit is certainly the day’s highlight. Later, drive south to Athens for an overnight. Why not join the optional Greek dinner? (B)
